As you know, I love living at the Jersey Shore, and I love writing. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute to a local publication, where I get to write about all things Jersey Shore, as well as meet some pretty interesting people.
I am very excited to share the digital edition of Jersey Shore Magazine’s Spring 2016 issue, which you can access by clicking anywhere in this line. I wrote 5 articles that appear in the issue: “A Voice for the Sharks” (p. 10-11), “The Monmouth University Polling Institute” (p. 12-13), “Cattus Island County Park Redux” (p. 14-15), “Meridian Health-Taking Care of the Jersey Shore” (p. 66-74) and “Jersey Shore Foodie: Rod’s is Celebrating 35 Years of Success at the Jersey Shore” (p. 91-92). I also provided compilation and editorial work on the various directories contained in the issue, including Theater & Concert, Farmer’s Markets, Calendar of Events, Area Towns and Tourism Information.
To celebrate finding my voice and seeing my words in print, one lucky person who comments on this post about what you love about writing or what you love about the area where you live will win a printed copy of my book “Escape: Lessons from the Sea” as well as a brand new black Moleskin notebook. Comments must be posted before 5:00 pm on Sunday 3/20/2016, and the winner will be announced on Monday 3/21/2016.
As always, I thank you for your continued support! I look forward to reading your comments!
I’ve never been to Jersey, but I love Bon Jovi. Does that count? I love the beach, though, and I usually travel to South Carolina or Florida. I live south of Indy about 30 minutes, but I have plenty of things to do in Indy.

Of course loving Bon Jovi counts! I’m headed to Florida next week to see my mother in law. Should be interesting! Thank you for commenting!

Hi Jill, I live in Michigan and while our Great Lakes don’t rival the ocean, Lake Michigan is my personal favorite. You can stand on the edge of Sleeping Bear Dunes (Northern Michigan) and look out hundreds of miles and only see blue Caribbean like waves. Truly breathtaking. I love beach rocks, beach glass and perfect sunsets by the “big lake” as we call it. Thanks for this opportunity to win. Keep on writing!

Beach glass and perfect sunsets are a winning combination. I’ve never seen the Great Lakes but hopefully someday I will. Thank you for commenting!

The book looks interesting! I enjoy writing too because it also helps me organize my thoughts and preserve memories. I look forward to seeing my own work on print too… someday. 🙂

One of the reasons I write too is to preserve memories. I actually made the book using Blurb, and it was very easy friendly. Thank you for commenting!

Great idea! I love writing in part because my work is very solitary so it allows me to “get out” into the world even if I’m in the middle of nowhere.
I love living in Texas because it is very family oriented and welcoming. Weather is great too!
And as a bonus: I love the sea because it has allowed me to provide for my family, travel the world, and have amazing experiences in many different countries.
